Eto'o - I will always be the number 1
Cameroon’s striker Samuel Eto’o was happy with his team’s display against Germany on Sunday night in Mönchengladbach, in their third warm-up friendly ahead of the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014.
The Indomitable Lions held the three-time world champions to a 2-2 draw, with two second half goals from Eto’o and Eric Choupo-Moting on both sides of a German brace by Thomas Mϋller and André Schϋrrle.
“It was a very tough game, a high-standard match where we proved our quality. Now we must keep on working and win our next game in a few days in Yaoundé,” Eto’o told Mboafootball.
Following his score opener just past the hour mark, the Lions’ skipper has performed his now trade-mark ‘old man’ celebration by the corner’s flag, in response to former manager José Mourinho’s sarcastic comments about his age a couple of months ago.
“As they have said I may be old, but until I stop I will always be the number one,” added the striker who celebrated his 56thinternational goal against the Germans.
