Eduok with Mfon Udoh
Atta Aneke, the agent who brokered the controversial transfer of Emem Eduok to Norwegian club Sarpsborg 08, says he was deceived by his counterpart in Nigeria.
Aneke, a FIFA agent licensed by the Norwegian federation, says the player was brought to his attention by Bright Ogude, CEO of A&B Academy, who informed him that the player's contract with Dolphins had lapsed.
"He told me that the player's registration belonged to A&B," Aneke told ColinUdoh.com.
Aneke said Ogude's position was backed by the player
"I called him and asked him which club owned his clearance, and he told me A&B and it was on that basis that we proceeded with negotiations."
Aneke shared details of sms communications between him and both Ogude and Eduok which confirmed his side of the story, although he did admit that the Norwegian club could have done more from their side to see actual contract documents.
Details of the transfer are currently being investigated by the Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation and Ogude and his A&B Academy could face serious sanctions.
