Ahmed Musa injured scan for Elderson - Keshi
Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has disclosed that CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa is down with injury, while Elderson Echiejile will have a scan on a suspected hamstring injury.
Keshi also said Israel-based defender Juwon Oshaniwa has resumed training with the rest of the World Cup squad after a bout of malaria.
The Eagles coach did not specify the mature of Musa’s injury but it is believed he picked it from the game against Greece.
“The doctors have an appointment for an MRI scan for Elderson to know the extent of the problem. We have to wait,” he said.
“(Ahmed) Musa is nursing a little a bit of injury, while Juwon (Oshaniwa) has been out for three, four days with malaria, but he has resumed training.
“Hopefully everybody will be fine before we leave for Brazil.”
Keshi said he expected more from his team in the goalless draw with Greece on Wednesday, but later realised that the team have only been training together for the past one week.
“I was asking for a lot but we only started training as a team last week. But I needed to push and ask for more. I only saw our style in the last 15 minutes against Greece.” he said..
“I hope we will be much, much better against USA.”
